Court Rules

  1. Proper attire, including shirts, shorts and sneakers, must be worn.
  2.  Protective lensed eye guards are mandatory on the courts.
  3.  No black-soled tennis or running shoes are permitted. There is a $10 fine for playing in shoes that mark the court.
  4. Racquets must be equipped with racquet guards. This notwithstanding, players should refrain from striking the wall and floor surfaces of the courts.
  5. When arriving for play, check in at the Front Desk for a court assignment.
  6.  Court etiquette should be adhered to at all times. When your court time is up, please leave the court as soon as the next players arrive.
  7. Courts 1 through 8 will be available on the hour, and courts 7 through 11 on the half hour. If you wish to continue to play beyond one hour, call the Front Desk (ext. 100) for a court assignment (if a court is available). During prime time, (Monday through Friday, 4-9pm and weekends, 8am – noon), single racquetball/handball members may reserve only one hour of court time per day; double racquetball handball members may reserve two hours of prime time per day. You may reserve courts 48 hours in advance.
  8. Challenge Court Rules:
  • Two challenge courts are set aside each day for a number of hours. Periods for challenge are 3-9pm Monday through Friday and 9am-12pm weekends and holidays. The winner of a challenge match may play a second challenge, but must leave the court, win or lose, after the second match.
  • On Monday & Wednesday court #1 is for Open and "A" racquetball players only. Court #2 is for "B" & "C" racquetball players only.
  •  All games are to 15 points.
  •  No player may have his name on both challenge courts at one time.
  •  If a waiting player is not present at the end of a game, he will lose his place to the following player or players.
  •  On Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays, courts #2 & #4 are designated for handball challenge from 4-8pm. Courts #1 & #3 are designated for racquetball challenge during this time. On Saturday & Sunday courts #2 & #4 are handball challenge, Courts #1, #3 & #5 are racquetball challenge.
  •   On Saturdays from 9am-12 noon the even courts are for handball and the odd courts are for racquetball.
  1. Please do not leave athletic bags directly outside the court doors. This impedes hallway traffic.
