Acupuncture is one of the world’s oldest healing sciences, with over 3,500 years of
documented history.

Holistic, Comprehensive
“State-of-the-Art Training” with compassionate awareness.

How does acupuncture work?
While modern Western medicine cannot explain how acupuncture works, in Chinese medical
theory the human body is an energetic system composed of Qi (vital life-force). Qi flows in
discrete channels or “meridians” throughout the body. Where there is disease or illness, the
flow of Qi is disrupted. Acupuncture, in conjunction with Chinese herbs, is used to regulate
and promote the free flow of Qi, thereby restoring and harmonizing the energetic balance of
the body.

Is Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine Safe?
Yes!!! The needles used are ‘single-use’ pre-sterilized disposable needles.

The herbal medicines have been studied for nearly 4000 years and are very effective with
minimal to no ‘side-effects.’  The formula’s used can be made specific to each individual
patient, or can be “traditional” formula’s that are known to be effective and safe.  Herbal teas
 or capsules are available.

Oriental medicine is considered to be one of the least invasive, yet most effective forms of
medicine available.

Does it hurt?
Acupuncture needles are about the size of 3-4 human hairs. Common sensations felt by
patients at sites of insertion are tingling, heaviness and distention. Most patients find
acupuncture treatments to be very relaxing.

How long do the treatments last?
The initial treatment takes between an hour and a half and two hours with return treatments requiring an hour. The number of treatments varies on the duration, severity and condition of
each patient’s major complaint.

How soon will I see results?
Again this depends on the severity and duration of the condition being treated; you may need
only a single treatment for an acute condition. A series of five to fifteen treatments may
resolve many chronic problems. Some degenerative conditions may require many treatments
over time.

How do I know if acupuncture will help my condition?

“Acupuncture is effective in treating physical disease and disorder,
pain and emotional distress.”

Conditions commonly treated with acupuncture and Chinese herbs

anxiety  carpal tunnel syndrome  constipation
depression diarrhea  digestive trouble
emotional problems  fatigue headache
