THAI
YOGA BODYWORK
Quite
different from massage, Thai Yoga bodywork is a rhythmic
sequence of soft tissue compression, stretching, twisting
and traction. Its flowing sequence leaves you feeling
energized, relaxed and free.
The
amount of movement a muscle can produce at a joint is a
measure of the difference in its length when relaxed
verses fully contracted. Tense muscles become shorter even
when you are not consciously contracting them. Tension
sets in from overwork, lack of use and from emotional
tension. Reduced range of movement is characteristic of
the ageing process. Thai Yoga bodywork, with its unique
ability to stretch all the most important muscles in the
body, systematically equalizes the muscles on both sides
of the body.
The
recipient of this applied Yoga is fully clothed. The
practitioner is free of the need to constantly drape the
recipient’s body. This often makes the recipients feel
more able to open up to the work that is needed and more a
part of the process. He or she is encouraged in their
individual practice of yoga.
